I replaced the RAM and the laptop seemed to work perfectly. I decided to buy new RAM, so I got 2 4GB modules. However, when I connected both of the RAM sticks, it crashed in 5 minutes again. I took out one RAM stick and placed it in each slot, the MacBook Pro was running fine while playing a 2 hour movie. I searched online and people said it was a RAM issue. I turned it on again, and it froze and beeped after 5 minutes. I thought it would fix itself, but it got VERY hot, so I shut it down to prevent any interior melting or overheating. When this happened, my MacBook Pro started to get hotter and hotter. It kept going until I had to forcefully shut it down by the power button.

I was taking notes at school and suddenly the laptop froze and gave 3 loud beeps, then a pause, and 3 loud beeps again. It has been working perfectly until 1 week ago. I bought my MacBook Pro in August of 2011. Hello fellow Macbook User! So, I have been experiencing an issue where when I attempt to move, or lift my Macbook Pro (obviously having to touch the bottom panel) my laptop would freeze, sometimes with or without the 3 beep code indicating a ram issue. At first, the 3 beeps would sound if I moved my laptop to another room, but.

If your Mac is not an early 2011 model, iFixit should have an article for any model. Here is iFixit's article on replacing MacBook Pro RAM:Article.
